As the holiday time is upon us, I am grateful for the ability to be in control of how and where I choose to work on my business.   So many small business owners and solopreneurs are held to the restraints of the office or tied to one on one appointments that need to be maintained on a consistent basis, in order to keep the money flowing to pay the bills.

I am so grateful for my business design as I sit in my sunroom doing this blog, the wind is up and the ocean is choppy.  I have a couple of hours work before heading out to enjoy party times with friends for New Years Eve.  This afternoon, Murray (my gorgeous husband) and I have been planning out how we want our 2010 to be.

One thing is for sure, if you want something to come to fruition, you have to set out with the intention right from the start.   Goals, timelines, action steps should all be in place for you to have every chance of achieving your desired outcome.

Now is a great time to decide how you want your business to look for 2010 and beyond.  Do you want to continue to be hamstrung to a time for dollars model, or do you want more freedom, more flexibility and a greater income?

If you do, then you might need to consider re-designing your business model into one that suits how you want your lifestyle to be.  If you need someone to hold your hand to do this, check

During the festive season our family has had our home filled with visitors as I am sure many of you did too.  We have had a fabulous time doing fun things like boating, swimming, fishing and hiking.   So what does this have to do with money I hear you saying? Well, the other thing we did was to visit many wineries in our wonderful Great Southern Region.  I have to say that I was amazed that only one of them had any opportunity for the 5 of us to leave our contact details with the business for future marketing.  Considering that at each and every winery we visited, we also made a purchase – we were all ‘hot’ customers.  But what have these businesses done?  Nothing – in fact, they allowed ready made customers walk out of their door, with no ability to make further contact with us again in the future.  This is definitely one of the common mistakes most businesses make – and realistically – it is letting money walk out the door. As a business, your marketing dollar is valuable.  It is hard enough to attract a customer in the first place, your next priority needs to be to ensure that you have the ability to capture prospects’ name and contact details so that you can continue to create a relationship with them.  To learn more about how to attract and keep your customers visit http://TheAussieBusinessCoach.com

One of the first things you need to do when deciding to get more bang for you buck with your marketing, is to decided exactly “who” you are selling to. You will need to identify a market that is growing, and one that already wants what you are can provide…in fact, your market will ideally [...]
